Her Life's Story
Today we celebrate the life of Maureen - a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and true South Bay local who knew how to enjoy life to the fullest.
Born in 1946 in Nokomis, Maureen moved to Redondo Beach, California at a young age and quickly fell in love with the beach, sunshine, and outdoor adventures that became such a big part of her life. She loved beach camping at Refugio State Beach and Carpinteria State Beach, skiing and serving on ski patrol at Snow Summit, and spending the Fourth of July in Big Bear Lake enjoying the lake, fireworks, and family traditions she loved so much.
She was happiest sitting at the beach during sunset and watching for dolphins in the water. Those simple moments brought her the most joy.
Maureen also dedicated her life to teaching, helping special education and troubled students find confidence, direction, and opportunity. She cared deeply for others and touched countless lives throughout her career.
She leaves behind her loving husband, two sons, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters who will forever carry her love and memories with them.
Maureen taught all of us that life is short and should be enjoyed - spend time with family, take the trip, watch the sunset, laugh often, and make memories whenever you can.
We love you, Mom, and we will forever celebrate your life every time we see a beach sunset or dolphins playing in the waves.
